Stop right here. Do _NOT_ buy a floppy tape. If you have searched the
archives as you claim, you must surely have come across endless ranting about
why floppy tapes are _evil_. If not, go look again 8)

A 'specific list' doesn't exist because such an item would be a moving
target; it would be perenially wrong and out of date.

It looks like an IDE disk. Disk change notification may not be perfect.

> 2. Is the SyQuest EZ135 External SCSI drive supported?

AFAIK it looks like a SCSI disk. I've heard people have these working fine.
Why are you opposed to a SCSI tape drive, yet willing to buy one of these?
If backups are your goal, a SCSI DAT won't cost much more than an EZ135, yet
it will hold 10+ times as much data.

No idea. If they behave, they probably work OK.

> 4. Are any Iomega IDE/SCSI drives supported?

The SCSI Zip ("Mac Zip") is being used by several people with great success.

No, no and no. IDE tapes are not supported. If they're even half as bad
as IDE CD-ROMs, they're not likely to get much attention soon.
As a general rule, broken hardware, especially _fundamentally_ broken
hardware, tends to get support last under FreeBSD.

Not a problem. Sorry for the incredibly negative reply 8(
