You might want to look through the archives as this was
discussed before.  I believe that it had something to do
with the fact that the file should be called mountdtab
instead of mountdbtab (something messed up with the install).

Mine works fine as mountdtab:
-rw-r--r--  1 root  bin  36 Nov  6 15:58 /var/db/mountdtab
