You're having errors because you haven't installed the other ports each
window manager needs (e.g. both Window Maker and AfterStep require that you
install png first).  Usually you won't be able to install a port without
the required ports already installed (did you force an installation?).  If
you're doing this on a machine connected to the Internet, it will
automatically fetch the required ports.  If your machine isn't connected
(as seems to be the case), check out http://www.freebsd.org/ports, which
lists the requirements for every port.
