Is the raid controler here a seperate PCI card or is it the backplane for the 
80pin "hot swap" drives?

If the raid controler is a pci card then disconnect it from SCSI channel A 
and make the card the end connection. 

Another option is to remove the RAID card and see if/how the drives are 
detected by the scsi bus.
