Yes, the Linux hostap guys say that the link speed of 2Mbps is always
indicated in hostap mode.  They hacked the driver to keep a running
tab on the last packet they got and reported that when asked what the
link speed was.  Maybe I could do the same thing, or maybe someone
else could.
