well you need to first populate your ports tree. either you do it via =
cvsup or from your cd.

if you want via cvsup copy the file =
/usr/share/examples/cvsup/ports-supfile in your root's home dir, edit =
the line where it says which cvsup server to use, then do "cvsup =
ports-supfile" as root. after that you can now install from your ports.

a bit sounding like you gotta install fbsd first in order to learn fbsd. =
:-)

  Subject: Ports not installed?

I get this message when trying to 'make install' to a port I've =
downloaded:

  internet# make install
  "/usr/share/mk/bsd.port.mk", line 2: Could not find =
/usr/ports/Mk/bsd.port.mk
make: fatal errors encountered -- cannot continue
  internet#

  I use FreeBSD 4.2 RELEASE.

What do I need to install in order to get it working?

  Thanks
