4.2BSD will run fine on a VAX 11/780, 750 or 730, or maybe a 785.
It does not run on a PC.  Or did you mean something else?

4.2BSD predates the web by quite a few years, and doesn't have a graphical
user interface.  It has awk, though.  It is certainly simple by today's
standards.
