Hello,
but, if I think correctly, /usr/obj is machine dependent? If you have 
two systems, for example i386 & i686, you can have common source (/usr/src)
but on i686 you may have CFLAGS=-march=pentiumpro in /etc/make.conf and
on i386 does not.
So /usr/src can be RO and on NFS, but /usr/obj need to be local (or common for
equal architectures and rw)
