I've looked into this some more and I think I have the modem configured correctly. What I am not sure of is PPP. When I try to connect (ppp -background) to the Ethernet port on the modem via PPPoE, I get the following in my log: Nov 29 21:52:00 blacksheep ppp[367]: Phase: Using interface: tun0 Nov 29 21:52:00 blacksheep ppp[367]: Phase: deflink: Created in closed state Nov 29 21:52:00 blacksheep ppp[367]: tun0: Command: default: set mru 1492 Nov 29 21:52:00 blacksheep ppp[367]: tun0: Command: default: set mtu 1492 Nov 29 21:52:00 blacksheep ppp[367]: tun0: Command: default: set authname ****** Nov 29 21:52:00 blacksheep ppp[367]: tun0: Command: default: set authkey ******* * Nov 29 21:52:00 blacksheep ppp[367]: tun0: Command: default: set dial Nov 29 21:52:00 blacksheep ppp[367]: tun0: Command: default: set login Nov 29 21:52:00 blacksheep ppp[367]: tun0: Command: default: set ifaddr 192.168. 157.1/0 10.0.0.2/0 255.255.255.0 0.0.0.0 Nov 29 21:52:00 blacksheep ppp[367]: tun0: Command: default: add default HISADDR Nov 29 21:52:00 blacksheep ppp[367]: tun0: Warning: Add route failed: default al ready exists Nov 29 21:52:00 blacksheep ppp[367]: tun0: Command: default: enable dns Nov 29 21:52:00 blacksheep ppp[367]: tun0: Command: default: nat enable yes Nov 29 21:52:00 blacksheep ppp[367]: tun0: Command: papchap: set authname ****** Nov 29 21:52:00 blacksheep ppp[367]: tun0: Command: papchap: set authkey ******* * Nov 29 21:52:00 blacksheep ppp[368]: tun0: Phase: PPP Started (background mode). Is this true? What I want to do is connect to my ISP, pass my login credentials, and receive a dynamic address from them. The contents of my ppp.conf file are in my original message below.
