I let your question sit a bit in hopes that someone would pick it up.  It
seems no one has.

Tho only thing I can recommend is that you make sure there are no
conflicts in the visual config editor.  Comment out all of the devices
that you don't have and try again.

I also cleared up a crashing while booting the install floppy with a
combination of new floppies and a different floppy drive.
