as far as i can see this patch fixes the problem - i tried it here at home and
it works fine - at the moment i'm at compiling a new kernel for our machines
in the university - there it will be tested 24 hours a day - if i get any
problems with it i'll send a mail to Doug Rabson <dfr@render.com> (to avoid
the "overflow" of hackers from my mails - sorry for my a bit agressive way -
it will never happen again (this is for jordan :-)
