Yes, I've had tons of problems too.  The port is the only way I've been
able to get it installed.  I can't run it though.  I get blank buttons,
core dumps, and insufficient memory errors when I try to create or open
files.  Emacs-19.34b works well for me tho', as does xcoral and asedit
for basic editing functions.
