Just my two cents for all, I just purchased the new CTX EzBook 800 300mhz AMD k6 3d cpu, takes 128 megs ram, the disk is 2 gigs but for 250 you can get a 6.4 gig laptop drive, has all the bells and whistles dual infrared ports, 2 pcmcia slots, external video, serial, built-in modem, saves a pcmcia slot, 2 usb ports, neomagic 2 meg graphics adapter, external ps/2 mouse, 20x cdrom built-in sound system that rocks, internal microphone and speakers, has a tv/ntsc in/out port allsorts of loaded up... runs freebsd 2.2.8 with X and the touch pad or external mouse, name it this baby has it, it cost me like 1300.00 total from circut city of all places.... im happy as hell with it... came pre-loaded with 98, blew it away and got freebsd on it, now its connected to the net via dhcp and a cpmcia card on a cable modem....... only drawback is the cdrom under freebsd locks up solid for some reason...... runs fine under windows, so all i did was disbale it... ill look at that soon... but everything else is great......
