It's not one > rule for all. Yes, it's just that checking ports is time consuming, and yet another thing to do just makes me skip that port. I'm inherently lazy, I suppose. However, the truth of the matter is if I have to take multiple extra steps to check a new port, I'm more likely to skip it altogether. I consider an additional ssh, gunshar, diff, and patch as 'multiple extra steps'. I don't mind when the user did something that we forgot to mention, or something that is an easy fix (forgot to update 'Version Required').
