According to angelko@saw.net: > > It is a Merit AAA Server. I am hoping to find connection information > from either this server, or from the dialup server. SNMP would work > form with the dialup server (though I only know how to query for uptime), > but I don't know to make RADIUS tell me this stuff. I don't want to over-react to your question. We don't support SNMP in our RADIUS server. Our enhanced server DOES maintain state of the kind you are seeking. For simple counts, we usually postprocess various log files. For real time (read accurate) info, you can't beat going to the "horses mouth" and query the NAS using SNMP or telnet (depending upon vendor support issues). Now DIAMETER is another story. It has a built in concept of the state of sessions it is dealing with. But that is a bit off topic... > The online info at www.merit.edu/aaa continues to be useful, though > I'll still need to contact aaa-support@merit.edu about the radcheck > output details. I urge you to send email to aaa-support@merit.edu and ask them your specific questions. If they start to hear what might be termed a "trend" then they will likely consider augmenting their on-line (WWW) documententation to save themselves from having to answer the same kinds of questions over and over again. It is just simple human nature -- a matter of survival and keeping one's head above water in the technical nightmare called product support. :-) Regards, web... -- William Bulley Senior Systems Research Programmer Merit Network, Inc.
