I have severe reliability problems with HP DDS (so-called DAT) drives. I've been through 5 HP35480As, and so far one 1533A. None of them lasted more than 9 months, the 1533 made about 5 (most of which time I was away). I get by by having two drives, so I have a spare while the other one is being exchanged. Greg
