This seems to be a common misunderstanding of how IPSEC works,
and it comes from some widely distributed IPSEC FAQ, I think.
You don't need a gif(4) for IPSEC to work on FreeBSD.  Perhaps,
old versions of FreeBSD required this, but doesn't now.
