Thanks for the reply, Jeremy. I admit to being a mere mortal user, so 
I'm probably missing something, but doesn't the below, explicit 
reference to 'libgnomemm-2.0.pc' indicate a problem, given that only 
1.3.10 (as you note) exists?

I did try a forced reinstall of libgnomemm to no avail.
