 (newbie - )

when i installed i apparently used an unqualified hostname. i used
"ham_on_rye" as the hostname and never entered any thing in the domain
field. i have since learned that underscores "_" are not recommeneded and
that i could as well said said "ham-on-rye.local w/better results.

durring boot-up i get some comments from FreeBSD - "unqualified host name",
"sleeping for retry", "unable to qualify host name", then - "using short
name". Also I see something to the effect that sendmail is complaining too.

so how can i permantly correct this problem? i assume there's a file i can
edit. or, i have tried /stand/sysinstall but haven't been able to effect a
change.(?)

THANKS
