You know, if noticed little things like this in 4.3-RELEASE that I have not seen with older versions of FBSD. For example, apache 1.3.19 will core dump on startup if you have not ifconfiged a network port. usbd was core dumping because of a change I had made to /etc/usbd.conf. I created a new usbd.conf by copying each entry from the old config file to the new one, one at a time. I could never figure out why it was crashing because I ended up copying all of the entries over to the new file and it worked fine. There are several more things like this that I ran into that I can remember at this moment. Just FYI ...
