Hi, I have written two UNIX programs for IRC. One is an Internet Relay Chat Proxy and the other is an Internet Relay Chat Bot (robot). Both programs are written in C and run on most unix systems including FreeBSD. I personally run FreeBSD on both of my servers. Both my programs are free, but one of the problems I'm having since I made them available to the open is to promote them. I was then wondering if it could be possible to get these programs into the FreeBSD ports, because it would be a great chance that somebody actually got to know about them and started using them, and a great chance for me to get some feedback so I can improve whatever necessary. When I look in the FreeBSD ports I see that there are many simular programs. However camparing mine to some of those in the ports, I believe mine are better. An example is my ircproxy, in the ports you have bnc and muh, I have tried both those but I wasn't very happy with them. My IRC bot, eclipsed doesn't beat eggdrop, eggdrop is still the best IRC bot available. But my bot, eclipsed has some very uniqe features and is far better then other bots in the ports such as "dancer" and "darkbot". I hope you can take my programs for consideration for the ports. ircproxy: www.ircproxy.night-light.net The project orignally started in the fall of 1997, it wasn't available offically until 2001. The current release has proven to be very stable and working. I have been working on the new release for about 2 years, it still isn't ready, thus the current release is very old, but I'm patching it if I find any bugs. The documentation is not very good but should be enough to get you started.
