Okay.., that's more like it. The Gnome GUI splash thingy appeared almost instantly. Couple of things though: I usually would have the Gnome "login sound" play as the Sawfish is started., that's not there. All of my desktop noises (event generated noises that I set up), in fact are not present anymore.., I'm dying to hear what you make of these results.., Thanks again.
