I must admit I'm a little confused by all the versions of zmodem
running around and all the legal hassle and threats by some
author of one of them...

...but, a long time ago I modified one specifically for Seyon
that displays the progress.  I couldn't tell you off the top of
my head what I did, but I recall it was pretty trivial.
