This is good.  I'll see if I can throw something together for
2.1.  Indexed files eat up space like nothing you've ever seen
(except for the USGS digital orthoquad series, 3500 CD's of jpeg
compressed aerial photographs!).  The fairly modest index on
www.freebsd.org sucks up a couple hundred meg.

No.  It uses freewais which is buggy as hell.  It never worked
quite right under 1.1.5.1 and I never even got it compiled under
2.0, mainly because of a lack of time.  In another week, the
semester will be over and I hope to get the mailing list archive
back in gear.
