I think it's still a little bit under baked. I fetched 1.57 yesterday and under Solaris 2.3 'cw' doesn't work (it executes the replacement text as commands!), and under BSD/386 1.1, cursor positioning is sometimes random. These couple instant oddities made me shelve 1.57 and return to 1.56 (which has a sluggish flavour, but otherwise works). If I manage to track down the underlying bugs (there were a lot of compiler warnings about char vs unsigned char, for example), I'll let Keith know. Stephen.
