If I remember correctly, these are the guys that convert crlf->lf and
vice versa, correct?

If so, this is best done using 'sed' or any of several other, system-standard
utilities.  It _might_ make sense to provide them as sample aliases in
the default user template.

Nobody's stopping you from making them a port!
