I think the controller not supported is the one with caching and
"striping" (or RAID, as *they* call it) built in, but I'm not certain.
Your VLB controller is probably based on one of two or three standard
chipsets if it's not the caching controller.

FreeBSD, minus your bizarre controller.  ;^)  Seriously, one of the
local computer selles we work with sells ISA and VLB EIDE controllers
(2 FD, 2 HD, 2 "550" Serial, 1 Parallel, 1 Game Port) for $7.00.
