I tried upgrading my 2.1.6 system to 2.2-GAMMA (primarily to do IP routing and autodialing under PPP for my home network). It seemed really straightforward (I'm most impressed with the amount of thought that went into this), except that I haven't been able to compile a new kernel. (I upgraded bin, compat21, des, info, doc, dict, manpages, floppies, and proflibs.) Aside from a large number of warnings about type mismatches (comparing signed to unsigned values), it finally dies compiling param.c noting that TIMEZONE and DST aren't defined. I'm guessing I need part of the src distribution. But which part(s)? And where do I find out about new options that have been added to the kernal configuration file? Thanks. ---Ken McGlothlen mcglk@serv.net mcglk@cpac.washington.edu
