The FreeBSD resolver is also capable of using } NIS host maps. The FreeBSD resolver seems to similar to resolv+ } with various other addons bolted on it (NIS host maps for one, as resolv+ } as DNS-only). I think the BIND 8.1.1 resolver has this stuff as well. I haven't had the time to examine it closely.
