Julian Elischer once stated: =One usage that people have often asked for is the ability to allocate =bandwidth, and to re-visit the queuing strategies we use. Yes! Absolute yes. This would be excellent! I could be downloading some stuff over my modem while still working through ssh. Someone could make sure the diskless workstations get their / and /usr faster then then they talk to a Web proxy, etc. If the network is indeed a computer, you must be able to prioritize it just like you can prioritize processes. Also, there is company which sells this software (for FreeBSD) for like $600. Can some of the desing ideas be taken from there before it is called stealing? They may like it, actually, if they do not have to support this code themselves. -mi To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-current" in the body of the message
