My understanding of what needs to be done, at least from looking at
the two drivers which appear during bootup on my laptop (sio and ep),
is to add some functions to handle insertion and removal, and the
DATA_SET(pccarddrv_set, ...) macro. I don't know much about the new
bus architecture and its relationship to the pccard system.. I really
haven't been following this.

Well, what I want is a right-now solution (partly because I'm going
away in four days and I'd like to have it working by then), which
could be the basis for a future solution.

As for ripping out the PAO stuff, I tried to do that last night, but I
ran into too many conflicts. PAO pccard is quite different, and it
was all for the 2.2 branch.

Hmm.. it looks like <199803200754.QAA09200@afs.ntc.mita.keio.ac.jp> in
the archive is what I want. I will see what, if anything, needs to be
done to bring that to current -current.
