If the problem was just that installworld was broken, then I guess everything should be OK now. I have another machine that I want to install 3.1 on but it locks up after configuring the network card and 3.1 can't probe its ATAPI CD; if I can figure out some way around those 2 problems I will try installing a newer snapshot on that machine and we can see.
