There's enough DOS software still in use that it has to. (even DOS software still being written... blech.) Using lower resolutions is not likely to help though, as it is more often these that are missing. (320x200 will work on anything of course, I mean 320x240,400x300, 512x384.) The most usual ones are the medium resolutions - 640x400, 640x480, 800x600,1024x768. It should give them in the card's manual though.
