I was able to use the IR port on my libretto w/o any special hacks.
However, to talk to most IrDA machines, you need the IrDA stack, which 
FreeBSD doesn't have.

On the 505TS it is not a win modem either.  I'm able to dial out on it 
from my FreeBSD side.

No.  One cannot presently load any laptop of cdrom.  However, if it is 
an ATA cdrom, that will change soonish.

It isn't a pain to me to switch back and forth.  I still need windows
to run Quickbooks, damnit.
