Subject: / not properly unmounted ?
Message-ID: <19990616033308.A16652@matrix.42.org>

I've remade the (stable) world a few days ago

| FreeBSD matrix 2.2.7-STABLE FreeBSD 2.2.7-STABLE #0: Fri Oct 9 16:20:23 CEST 1998 sec@matrix:/usr/src/sys/compile/MATRIX i386

And since then frequently get that message on bootup:

WARNING: / was not properly dismounted
and a subsquent fsck happens which has no (visible) effect.

I do use 'halt -p' to turn off my box.

Filesystems on my box are:

btl:~>mount
/dev/wd0s1a on / (local, writes: sync 7 async 285)
/dev/wd0s1f on /usr (local, soft-updates, writes: sync 384 async 10611)
/dev/wd0s1e on /var (local, writes: sync 148 async 578)
procfs on /proc (local)
/dev/sd0s3a on /old (local, writes: sync 2 async 9)
/dev/sd0s3f on /old/usr (local, writes: sync 2 async 1482)
/dev/sd0s3e on /old/var (local, writes: sync 2 async 11)
/dev/sd0s1 on /dos/c (local, read-only)
/dev/sd1s1 on /dos/d (local, read-only)
/dev/sd1s5 on /dos/e (local, read-only)
ice:/usr/ports on /usr/ports
ice:/usr/home on /nfshome
ice:/usr/ftp/pub on /usr/pub

and the (relevant?) part of my kernel-config is:

btl:~>grep wd /usr/src/sys/i386/conf/BTL
config kernel root on wd0
controller wdc0 at isa? port "IO_WD1" bio irq 14 flags 0xa0ffa0ff
disk wd0 at wdc0 drive 0
