Yup, a previously-working AMD config wedged totally when I upgraded
to 3.1-RELEASE (from 3.0-STABLE).

I installed amd-utils as well - this didn't help ;-(

I got this off the list, it hits the spot for me:

/defaults       type:=nfs;opts:=rw,intr,nfsv3,proto=udp,noconn
