Subject: Leave In Kernel?

I am building a custom kernel for a colocated email, ftp, & web server.
Since there will never be anything connected to any of the serial or
parallel ports, is there any compelling reason to leave them in the kernel?
Will pulling them out have any detrimental repurcussions someplace else?

Thanks, John
