Hello all, I have been looking at syslogd for remote logging of apache access.log files. We have a small farm of web servers, and want to log all accesses to one big file on a centralized logging box ( we want to analyze one big log file that stands for "the site" ). There is the obvious disadvantage of syslog using UDP, since we won't know if we lose packets.. This will likely not be a problem. However, syslogd will substitute "last message repeated XX times" if the occurences happen more than a couple times a second. Is there any way to turn this off? Also, is anyone actually doing this? I have been considering using syslogd just for apache error logs, and using either NFS or rsync for access logs, any suggestions?
