I am still a little confused with the whole process myself, but I do want to say one thing. The procedure is probably "different" from what we are used to, but there must have been reasons why it was introduced, and from what I read there wasn't much time... although I would hope that stable is not been done in a rush for the sole purpose of getting the lastest feature. After all it is supposed to be "stable". I think we should try to stick to constructive criticism. The one thing I am still unclear is where would one make changes? I used to make a copy of GENERIC and work on that.
