This is what it says:

Fatal server error:
Cannot open log file "/var/log/XFree86.0.log"

When reporting a problem related to a server crash, please send
the full server output, not just the last messages.
This can be found in the log file "/var/log/XFree86.0.log".
Please report problems to xfree86@xfree86.org.

Then it freezes until I hit <CTRL>C:

xinit: unexpected signal 2

But ls -l /var/log/XFree86.0.log shows this:

-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 1050 Aug 7 17:04 /var/log/XFree86.0.log

Which is the same permissions as most of the logfiles in /var/log.

Should I try reconfiguring X? Can I still do it from
/stand/sysinstall?

Thanks

Lou
