:I've just been too busy to do this quickly and the changes in question
:are getting too big to make this a -stable candidate in any case.
:Maybe once I've actually finished this stuff, made them work in all
:the edge cases AND gotten some -current snapshots out for people to
:test, it'll all be ready, but not before then.
:
:I'm sorry to make such a fuss over Matt's changes and then fail to
:come up with something better within the timeframe allotted. Time for
:me to eat a nice big helping of crow! I hereby withdraw my objections
:to Matt's changes and apologise to him for knocking his changes and
:then failing to deliver on my own counter-proposal in a timely
:fashion.

Hey, that's really big of you Jordan! Thanks! I'm sure the code
will be plenty refined enough by the next release.

For this release, since Jordan isn't going to make it, I *would*
like to MFC my sysinstall changes.

I am going to submit my proposal to the release engineers in non-list
email (you all know what it is), and I recommend that those who want
to have their own say (e.g. fewer partitions) submit their own proposal
to the release engineers, also in private email. However, I would ask
that rather then simply throwing a tantrum off-the-cuff that you first
at least *try* my sysinstall code first. It's in current and the -stable
    patches are available at http://apollo.backplane.com/FreeBSD/

Note, some minor revs were made to the stable patches and to the comitted
version of the current patches. Basically just /var/tmp -> /tmp.

The release engineers should then make a final determination and email
me. I will then do the MFC with appropriate adjustments.
