Umm, not at all. And I had thought they were B-E, or bisexual, like
PPC. No, more a frustration that something like this could show up
at this stage of the game (presumably stable app that's been around
for a loooong time).

If it's not endianness, then alignment, maybe? Only alpha I have access to
runs VMS (urghh), not BSD. I might be able to look at it there, if you think
its worth it.
