Yes.  The thttpd result was just the one that I thought most people
could relate to.  Applications that make heavy use of mprotect()
to implement garbage collection or virtual/distributed shared memory
on clusters benefit from this as well.

P.S.  I hope this motivates others on this list to look at splay trees.
They are extemely easy to work with and to implement.  (Notice that vm_map.c
only grew by 24 lines.)
