you have never understood me at all.

So you are saying that Bill's reply on my email is a perfectly valid
way of socialising within a team?

The choice I made was not even based on emotion.  Bill's flame didn't
even touch me (it's so easy to let go).

How is that considering the group over yourself?

And the insinuations about me doing it just for core, it can only make
me sigh.
To quote one of the verses on the training of the mind:

"When I see beings of wicked nature, pressed by violent sin and
affliction, may I hold these rare ones dear as if I had found a precious
treasure..."
