I did this update last night.  No problems at all.  I think you're
just unlucky in the choice of FTP servers your ports system is using.

As you're in the UK, try this in /etc/make.conf:

    MASTER_SITE_BACKUP?=    \
            ftp://ftp.uk.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/distfiles/${DIST_SUBDIR}/
    MASTER_SITE_OVERRIDE?=  ${MASTER_SITE_BACKUP}

That will make ports system look for files on the ftp.uk.freebsd.org
server before it tries anywhere else.

Failing that, contact me off list and I'll send you the bash205b-001
