If it were introduced it would do grievous harm to readability. I much prefer the idea of colour -- in fact here's a gratuitous plug for w3mman [|-....o Other horrid things that FreeBSD might acquire via groff from Linux mandb include formatting text to the width of the terminal rather than a legible width < 80 characters.
