the gnome screenshots are ginormous, with one reaching 1MB. they are
loaded and then HTML-resized. while this means that subsequently viewing
the images means they don't need to be downloaded, it means i gotta
download a 1 meg gnome1 image to check out a gnome2 example.

i have some resized images at http://vectors.cx/freebsd/gnome. the file
size can be further reduced by decreasing the image quality.

is this a good idea, or is the HTML-resizing intentional?
