Do you anticipate making any other major network driver interface changes in the near future? If so, it would be best if you could make them sooner rather than later. FWIW, 3rd party driver developers appreciate having a stable network driver ABI. On -stable, a module built on 4.1.1 will load and run correctly on all kernels through 4.7-RELEASE. I'd like to see us maintain a similar ABI consistancy through the 5.x series for NIC drivers, if at all possible.
