Okay, first of all forget how a winmodem will use
extra cpu cycles and all that...

In linux I've found drivers for my Agere internal
winmodem and it works great.  Can the same be done in
FreeBSD?  I haven't been able to find such drivers so
far, but maybe it's just a matter of editing the linux
drivers to work in freebsd.  Has anyone tried this?
