I have not tried bge NIC's on the server you mention but on other
servers with bge based NIC's I have seen very odd things happening
including lockups when receiving UDP packets and corrupted packages. I
would suggest trying a different NIC. But then again your problem might
be completly unrelated but I think it is worth looking at.
